Overview
Plantar fasciitis is inflammation of the thick band of tissue running across the bottom of your foot. It's the most common cause of heel pain and often affects runners, those with flat feet, and people who stand for long hours.
Most cases respond well to stretching, footwear changes and a single corticosteroid injection — avoiding the need for advanced procedures.
